Scholarship

School offers a wide range of scholarships to support a student’s education either awarded on the basis of academic or other achievement.

While distributing scholarships, school gets completely governed by act enforced. The school distributes 10% of scholarships based upon various criteria, which usually reflect the values and purposes of the immediate Education Act.

The types of scholarships awarded by the school are:

  • Academic Scholarships
  • Athletic Scholarships
  • Scholarships for Minorities and Underprivileged
  • Scholarships for Women
  • Scholarships for Student of the Year

How to claim scholarships?

Scholarships can be claimed through an application along with other necessary proven and legal documents by the end of Baisakh of every academic year. The application must be addressed the School Principal.

Note:

  1. The scholarship claimed without completing the procedures is rejected.
  2. If the document submitted is proven wrong or manipulating later, the scholarship is automatically cancelled.
  3. No scholarship application is entertained submitted after the dead line.
  4. Scholarships are distributed in the percentage basis.

The school and the scholarship distribution committee surfs all the application and conditions before awarding scholarships. The committee and school reserve the right to award or reject any scholarship.

Admissions

School aims to provide high quality educational experience through a fair and transparent admission system and avoid unfair discrimination on grounds of disability, gender, religion or belief. The policy ensures proper admission procedure in respect to each application received for admission. It also seeks to set a selection criteria which is transparent, fair and consistent.

Objectives:

  • To ensure that school gets the maximum admissions possible without making any compromise.
  • To have a fair and transparent policy for all parents.
  • To make the admission process easy for parents and students.
  • To get a genuine report of where the child stands and if there are any particular areas of weaknesses that needs to be focused upon.

This policy applies to all parents seeking admission for their children at Southwestern School.

Requirements:

  • Attested photocopy of Birth Certificate
  • Two passport size photographs and one family photograph (parents, child & siblings only)
  • Parents Undertaking signed by both parents.
  • Previous years Report Card/Mark Sheets (G 9 & 10)
  • Original School Leaving Certificate (Please submit it before 30th April

Note: In Pre-School no assessment test will be conducted. However, parent interaction will be done and are required to submit a report from the previous school.)

Tuition / Fees
All fees, and the first month’s tuition must be paid prior to entering school. The school operates primarily on a tuition basis. All tuition and fees are due on the first of each month and incur an automatic rupees twenty (Rs. 20.00) per week late fee if not paid by the fifteenth (15th) of the month. A processing fee of twenty-five (RS 25.00) will be charged for all returned checks. Fees can be paid on terminal basis but in advance.

It is best to apply as soon as you know that ……….. is an option for you. While there is no deadline for applications, we have limited vacancies and we follow a first come first serve policy, so apply early for your best chance of being admitted.

Admission is given on the basis of an Entrance Examination which is mandatory, comprehensive, and has to be cleared on the basis of marks secured in the exam. A personal interview closely conducted by the School Management is compulsory for all students accompanied by their parents.

Forms can be collected from the school office or can be downloaded from our school website ……………. Completed forms can then either be handed in person in the school or email in …………………..

As part of the application approval process, all children have to participate in an age-appropriate entry assessment for basic math, languages (English and Nepali) and social interaction. This is needed to ensure a smooth and fully supported transition to the school and is by no means a “pass/fail” test. Parent interviews will also take place to ensure that their outlook towards education is in alignment with the school’s values and learning goals.

No. The school believes that every child should have a right to apply to KWS, and does not seek any form of monetary reimbursement for the process.

Once the admission committee finalizes the entrance dates, you will receive a call and an email with the details.

The official admission process begins from 1st Chaitra every year but as the seats are limited, you will be able to reserve seats prior to the date once you are notified of your child’s selection.

Yes, our school offers varied scholarships to students on a need-cum-merit basis.

Scholarships are provided on the basis of merit as well as criteria set by NEB. Student candidates are required to appear in scholarship exams held by the school for which the school admission desk provides you with the dates and time of exam. Selection is transparent and fair and thus, it is mandatory to pass out the scholarship exams.

Facilities

A variety of instruments including guitars, keyboards, violins, drum sets, harmoniums and tablas for students inclined towards both western and eastern music.

The school has a separate library covering both fiction and nonfiction, resource /reference books , dailies and magazines. Our rich collection of books is updated regularly and students are encouraged to make full use of this facility to develop a love for books from an early age

Along with academics, physical fitness is given importance. With an eye to groom students into physically strong and mentally active members, a range of sports facilities are made available.

Dance communicates ideas through movement and expression and is a creative art form. The students learn different skills like rhythm, flexibility, coordination and expression. They participate in composing, moving and appreciating a range of dance styles.
