About Us

Mount View English Boarding School was Established in 2048 BS (1991 AD) as a private Boarding School with the view to do some unique and new and to provide quality education to the students of surrounding area of Changathali, Tikathali VDC.  Initially, the school had only 63 students but within a short period of time, the school became more popular among the neighborhood villages such as Balkot, Sirutar and Dadhikot. As a result, the school succeeded   to establish its branch at Balkot, the neighborhood village of Changathali.

 

The school gradually became popular among the guardians of whole Bhaktapur and eastern belt of Lalitpur district due to the strong management, transparent administration, visionary founder principal and smart working staffs along with well organized academic excellency, enough educational infrastructure and co-curricular activities.

 

In the time being, the initial policy of making the school centralized in Changathali became inappropriate.  As a result, Balkot branch of the school turned into main school and Mount View took the form of its branch school in 2052 BS. Due to the ability of school administration to be changed as according to the need of time and cooperative assistance from the teachers, guardians and well wishers, the school took a full fledge English medium school with more reputation when Changathali branch and the main school of Balkot joined together forming one of the biggest school in the locality in 2053 BS.

 

The school did not focus only on rot learning teaching system from its establishment time. It induced so many ECA and CCA activities for all round development of the students. As the result the school began to win almost all ECA contests organized by various organizations. The school felt matured when its students appeared in SCL examination for the first time in 2058 BS. The school is running to produce 14th batch of SLC graduates till the date.

Admission is given on the basis of an Entrance Examination which is mandatory, comprehensive, and has to be cleared on the basis of marks secured in the exam. A personal interview closely conducted by the School Management is compulsory for all students accompanied by their parents.

As part of the application approval process, all children have to participate in an age-appropriate entry assessment for basic math, languages (English and Nepali) and social interaction. This is needed to ensure a smooth and fully supported transition to the school and is by no means a “pass/fail” test. Parent interviews will also take place to ensure that their outlook towards education is in alignment with the school’s values and learning goals.

No. The school believes that every child should have a right to apply to KWS, and does not seek any form of monetary reimbursement for the process.

The official admission process begins from 1st Chaitra every year but as the seats are limited, you will be able to reserve seats prior to the date once you are notified of your child’s selection.

Yes, our school offers varied scholarships to students on a need-cum-merit basis.

Scholarships are provided on the basis of merit as well as criteria set by NEB. Student candidates are required to appear in scholarship exams held by the school for which the school admission desk provides you with the dates and time of exam. Selection is transparent and fair and thus, it is mandatory to pass out the scholarship exams.

Facilities

Students’ Quality Circle is one educational empowerment program that has tremendous potential and scope to shape the attitudes, habits and personality of students and make them the light of the world. Students’ Quality Circle (SQC) is one such innovative idea. Implementing SQC as co- curricular activity for our students they will develop pro- social personality together with whatever academic knowledge they gain. 

 

 

With the vision of providing knowledge of orchestra music to our children and showing their talent on different national and international stage we have formed a junior orchestra group and special violin classes are running smoothly since 2066.

Hot vegetarian lunches are served to all students. In addition, breakfast is provided to students in the elementary grades and an afternoon snack is available to students in the secondary grades. The food committee finalizes school menus, and meals are prepared in our modern kitchen by trained staff under the direction of a professional chef.

  • School can serve breakfast, lunch or tiffin to the students by charging reliable amount at the demand of busy and interested parents/guardians in monthly basis. Parents are liable to pay whole months of academic session for this service.
  • Students also can use cafeteria facility through coupon for each menu item. The coupon must be bought in advance (one month before)
  • School administration is not responsible for any loss/damage of coupon.
  • Menu rate can be changed from time to time as per the market price within the session.

 

 

 For the better health of student's Mount View has been promoting extra curriculum activities. This school established I.T.F Taekwondo Dojang for the first time in Bhaktapur district along with this for the first time in Nepal we introduced the game Goofball and has been dedicated for its development. We also conduct different music classes and sports game for the development of the students.

Mountain View maintains a fleet of radio-vans to transport students to and from the school, and bus routes service most areas of the city.

Mountain View’s Health Office is supervised by our registered, full-time nurse. The Health Office promotes the health and well-being of the Maountain View community, and is equipped to assess illness, provide basic nursing care and first aid, administer medications, and dispense health information to students, staff and parents.

The Health Office also offers emergency first aid training and certifications to members of the community.
