Nepal School Mela started virtually for the first time in Nepal
In the midst of the Second Web Corona epidemic, Nepal School Mela, first and largest education fair ever held in Nepal targeting schoolchildren, has just begun. The fair has been inaugurated through Zoom Live-webinar. The soft opening of this fair through virtual has started from 23rd of Baishakh and will continue till the month of Jestha.
Appropriate information and consultation will be given to the concerning students and parents in Nepal School Mela focusing pre-level to secondary level.
Hon'ble Umesh Shrestha, the educational heritage of private sector of Nepal inaugurated Nepal School Mela opening its website and sharing it through zoom. The Nepal School Mela has been organized by College in the collaboration of Private and Boarding Schools’ Organization Nepal (PABSON) and with the support of various organizations including National Private and Boarding Schools’ Association Nepal (N-PABSAN) and Higher Institutions and Secondary Schools’ Association Nepal (HISSAN).
In the midst of such a corona epidemic, most of the educational sector has been hit hard. In such a situation, the purpose for which the Nepal School Mela has been organized is very commendable and timely. Saying that it is a golden opportunity to choose the school of one's choice through virtual while staying at home, Umesh Shrestha told all the educational stakeholders that it would make comfortable and easy access for promoting educational institutions. He said that as he was not safe from Corona already, he requested everyone not to think it simple.
“Nepal School Mela will spread a very positive message in the education sector and gain wide participation as students, parents, and stakeholders will be able to make their own decisions by comparing different schools' pre-existing educational quality, results, interactive programs from the same platform”, HISSAN President and Member Secretary of Nepal Sports Council-Ramesh Kumar Silwal said.
He said, "This fair will serve as a bridge between the students, parents and the best educational institutions of the country."
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Tikaram Puri, President of the PABSON Central Committee, said that Nepal School Mela was opereated in the initiation of PABSON, organized by College Readers. Nepal School Mela has been organized to collect appropriate information, interact with and select schools, and fill up admission forms with the help of internet staying at home. Through 360 degree camera photoshoot, a virtual tour of school playground, reception, science and computer laboratories, classrooms, seminar hall, meeting hall, cafeteria and other physical infrastructures will make the students and parents feel that they have reached the school physically. Through Live-Webinar held on facebook page of Nepal School Mela, the students and parents will receive educational counseling affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Subash Neupane, General Secretary of N-PABSAN said that this virtual Nepal School Fair will make it easier for the students to choose a school and also make good use of the epidemic time while remaining at home.
Speaking at the inaugural event, Mr. Ram Hari Silwal, Former Coordinator of Virtual Edufair Nepal and Secretary of HISSAN, spoke about the activities that College Readers has been taking place in the education sector in Nepal for the past 15 years. So, we are sure that this Nepal School Mela will be a grand success after successfully completing the big two grand virtual educational fairs in great height.
So far, more than 150 schools from Kathmandu Valley and outside the Kathmandu Valley have participated in this Nepal School Mela.
