About Us

Namaste Academy

Established in 2060 B.S, Namaste Academy is a premier English medium, day boarding school, that caters to students from Playgroup to Grade 12. Located in the Tilottama Municipality of the Rupandehi district, in the Lumbini province of Western Nepal - we are the first school in the region to be managed by The British College.

The British College has been offering international degrees and achieving global success since 2012. With a network of schools in the UK, Dubai, and across Nepal - with their support, we now boast the most sophisticated infrastructure in the region, and pride ourselves on offering education that is based on the principle of a progressive system.

Vision

“Namaste Academy provides learners with the skills needed to prepare for a life in the 21st Century, by incorporating enquiry based learning and critical thinking methods - through experiential learning and an innovative application of knowledge and skills. It allows learners to follow their interests through guided topics, in order to meet the highest academic standards set by the school - as well as develop and practice empathy, compassion, responsibility and a sense of community, to serve as a global citizen”.

We focus on supporting the problems of working parents and ensuring that their children - our students - can receive the best education possible. As such, our day starts at 8am and finishes at 6pm to accommodate working hours. We also offer door to door transportation; provide all students with breakfast, lunch, and snacks; and offer after school activities to further accommodate parents schedules. We also run a hostel service which caters to students from all over Nepal.

Here at Namaste Academy, we nurture qualities such as inquisitiveness, innovation, accountability, and compassion in our students. We prioritise child safety and have strong discipline policies that help us to support the individual care and holistic development of the students - who above all, are always our top priority.

Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) help students to learn about themselves, by encouraging them to develop and use their skills and knowledge within a different context.

The activities are a great way for students to continue their learning outside of the classroom, whilst also encouraging their engagement within the school. It can also improve a child's self esteem as they discover their hidden talents, through a range of activities such as sports, dancing, yoga, singing, competitions, community programmes and much more.

We therefore consider Extra Curricular Activities as an important factor in ensuring our students success and happiness, and therefore integrate it in our assessments, to ensure that our  students take full advantage of the numerous benefits to be had from engaging with them.

We believe that if yoga is introduced at an early age, it can become a way of life for our students and help them to reconnect to their physical and mental health.

That is why Students at Namaste Academy practice yoga everyday - both in the morning and during assembly, under the guidance of a professional yoga Instructor.

Yoga is one of the best forms of exercising and self healing. It is the practice of meditation and self control and plays an important role in improving our daily routine and enhancing our physical flexibility, by removing negative blocks from the mind and toxins from the body.

Yoga helps our students to identify how to control and deal with their emotions whilst also providing them with immeasurable health benefits - including improving their posture, boosting their memory, and building their lung capacity.

Just like academics, sports is also an important aspect of education. Along with health and  enjoyment, sports can help students to learn about teamwork, responsibility, accountability, confidence, leadership, and discipline - which are all important factors in the success of our students.

To facilitate this, students are given the opportunity to play a variety of sports on a regular basis. We have a well equipped basketball court and futsal ground, and to guide the students we have professional basketball and football coaches.

Dance is a great form of healthy physical activity. It teaches children about music, rhythm, and beat - as well as the importance of movement and fitness, in a new and interesting way. Through learning dance, we believe that students also improve their communication as it helps them to express their feelings. Dance is a great way to reduce stress and boost self confidence - by motivating students to break out of their comfort zones. In this way, it is also a good source of relaxation, entertainment, and inspiration - components which we understand are all key to a child's development.

Here at Namaste Academy, we combine music with teaching as we believe it is key to creativity and provides an authentic context for working together.

Introducing music at an early age can also help students to foster a positive attitude towards learning and curiosity, and can be used as a great tool for them to manage stress. It can also help students to develop their memory, increase their concentration, and improve their academic grades.

During our music classes, we expose our students to many different genres, including folk, pop, rock, and classical - and in this way to expand our students minds and increase their self confidence.

Swimming is a really fun way for our students to keep fit. It helps our students to build social skills and life skills - as we understand that it is important for every student to learn to swim in order to keep safe.

We therefore have a swimming pool which is open for our students during the summer. We also hire a swimming coach during this time, to ensure that our students are kept safe and learn the best skills possible.

Namaste Academy has twelve 40-seat air conditioned buses, along with six 14-seat wingers, a Bolero, and a motorcycle.

This fleet of vehicles transports children to school in the mornings so that they arrive before 8 am (except for +2 students) and returns them to their homes at 6pm each day during the summer, and 5pm during the winter.

Our transport facility is designed to ensure the safe and convenient transport of all students and teachers. The drivers and helpers can always be contacted for easy monitoring of each route and all buses come complete with First Aid and Fire Extinguisher services.

The transport department regulates the movement of school vehicles, and the exact timing of pickups and drop offs will be communicated before the classes begin.

Namaste Academy provides wholesome meals for vegetarian and non-vegetarian students at very affordable rates.

Our chef prepares a menu which is regularly updated in accordance with advice provided by a local nutritionist and as such, we aim to produce balanced meals that keep our students healthy and fit.

Students and staff eat their meals in our spacious cafeteria that is airy, well-decorated and can seat up to 400 students at a time.

At Namaste Academy we run a Spelling Bee. The objective of this competition is for the students to learn new words and further practice their pronunciation and sentence formation.
